Progress

A project that I have been working on for quite awhile now is starting to really come together. The living room was very colorful but is now completely toned down with neutral fabrics. It's all about the texture here. Client's sofa was reupholstered in Great Plains' Thick as Thieves in Antelope. Sofa pillows in Rogers and Goffigon's Montacute and Lee Jofa's Bishop Court in Coral. Garden stool from Jerry Lamb in Portland.

A pair of vintage Widdicomb chairs from 1stdibs are on their way to fill out this room.

Curtains in Raoul Textiles' Lena in Auburn and pillow in Clarence House's Sommerset in Taupe. Kravet Chairs in Zimmer + Rohde's Sydney.

Antique Chinese cabinet from Eron Johnson antiques. Pickle pots from Circa Trade. Stools from McGuire.

The dining room sports gorgeous curtains in Galbraith and Paul's Ivy Paisley in Marigold.
We reupholstered her chairs in a subtle Laura Lienhard fabric. Sea Drift in Beach.

Here is one sexy desk chair for my client's bunsies. Lee chair with Schumacher Cheetah Velvet.

Mac Attack

I looked away for 1 minute...and off went the panties and on went the Viva Glam.

Shouldn't I be worried?

My James is Ivan

This is my James Andrew. What is he wearing? Vintage YSL suit, YSL glasses and YSL hair that took him just under an hour to nail. Every girl needs a James...or an Ivan.

Cruiser

I love this picture. Cruise bliss.
I stole it from annechovie. Her brother-in-law snapped it.

Pardon Panties

So...these little bastards were headed to lockdown when their new panties showed up. Jim Thompson's Fretwork panties...straight from Thailand. CAN YOU STAND IT? Well, I can't. I call them Pardon Panties.

My client pops in. The one I nicknamed Ouiji. The one whose iphone ring is sci-fi. You know...Indian Pear girl? She tells me she is clairvoyant and she sees the peacocks with her so I should just give in now. She told me..."Peacocks need to come home to mama". Pressure.

I'm not so quick to ditch these naughty birds. Now that they have new panties. From Jim Thompson. I could play bridge in these chairs...if I knew how. I could smoke Kools in these chairs...if I wanted to. I could definitely wear Lilly Pulitzer in these chairs...if I had any.

...but since I don't aspire to any of those things...I suppose I might loan them to Ouiji 'til my ship comes in and I have room for the birds with new panties.

Custom Notepads

The current financial climate is grim. One must plan for the future...

which included this Crewcuts wearing gang leader pinata beater...

which was followed up by a trip to the pool...

which naturally led to this...

which lead to the unwrapping of 12 of these fresh from the framer...

that need to go in my living room on either side of the altar table...which means the removal of these... Sayonara, Peacocks...you couldn't even stay 'til the custom cushions arrived...

but they were replaced with these...

which meant rearranging this...

Retreat

Since my husband has been busy busy busy with the opening of his new restaurant I thought I would pack up the kids and head over to my client's new river house for the night.

Had a great burger here. Lots of suspenders and gun racks. We fit right in with our hybrid and Prada.

We headed over to a funky little antique store. What the hell do you do with these?

We bought this chair for my client's bedroom. It was a steal at $100. Won't be when I'm done with it.

Notice the charcoal and bbq (and yoga mat). We couldn't figure out the million dollar gas grill so we had to buy a Hibachi at the general store. We grilled ribs Fed Ex'd from Niman Ranch. City dorks. If I had known mobile slaughter was an option the menu would have been different.

Grilled naughty 5 year old. Meaty, too.

A few fabulous things can really make a room. A big room. This vintage sofa recovered in a Henry Calvin wool/silk/linen damask came from my storage unit. It is awaiting pillows in Robert Kime's Indian Pear. The KILLER Brazilian cowhide rug stitched with a floral pattern came from The Rug Company. My client is trying to weasel out a giant abstract painting from her dad's house for that big wall. Vintage French deco chairs came from 1stdibs and we had them upholstered in a burnt orange mohair. Donner and Blitzen came from the North Pole. Duh.
