Gimme Gimme

I just ordered this Madeline Weinrib Navy Zig Zag rug in
LARGE for a super cute new client.

I want it, too...and I think it wants me back.

Hallway Situation

Plan B.
Pair of vintage Baker chairs, pair of cloisonne lamps from ebay absconded from my daughter's room, large pair of Chinese paintings on silk that came from the President of Peru's estate after he was thrown out of the country. Not perfect, though...

Too many pears.

Straight Runner

Here is our current stair runner. It is the second version that we have had of a blond faux wool/sisal. I loved the contrast against the walnut stained treads. I'm over it.

If I was loaded and didn't have to commit for too long this would be a fun nutty choice. Lee Jofa's Ikat wool...MAYBE in my second home...my Uzbek cabin.

I think I would choose better colors than LJ did. Prussian blue and butter? Borat brown and hot pink?

CZ Guest had it all figured out, though. She had a whole gaggle of little naughty purebred peeing dogs so she had this put in her house almost everywhere.

I don't want to mention the unmentionable things that are still happening around here but let's be real. I'm shooting for this one.

A bent man would get it. My straight husband might need some convincing.

Screwy Louis

I bought a pair of crusty vintage Baker Louis XVI chairs...

I waffled on the fabric...

I really wanted something neutral and geometric that contrasted with the sexy curves of the chair...as some of you may remember...

Focus. Jen. Focus.

Okay...so I finally committed to a Sea Cloth fabric.

...good choice...I had the gilding touched up a bit but not too much. I like crusty, people.

Carvers Guild Mirror. Julian Chichester console. 12 vintage Chinese rice paintings and a cloisonné vase. A recipe for gorgyness.

Now...I just need a hanger...

Ruthie Sommers

The new Chapman Radcliff website is finally up.
I totally miss pictures of her store, though. Sigh...

Really?

I decorated my 8 year old daughter's room awhile ago...

She told me yesterday she hates it. She wants to paint her walls black and red and would like an Egyptian theme. Really.

Headbanger

Monica Vitti makes me want bangs. So bad.

Lonny

Lonny Magazine
. It's really nice to finally meet you. I would bring you a mother-of-three, Suburban driving, picket fence sporting, Labradoodle owning, Stepford decorator homemade pie if I could...but I don't bake and you are cyber matter. I like you any way. I really cannot wait to get to know you.

All the Best

Ronda over at All the Best held a Best Bedroom Contest. I submitted a photo not thinking I had a chance. I was extremely flattered when she published this shot...making the first round.

I just about choked on my pâté when she asked for more photos of the room. Nope. It's a shoebox, I told her. True. Ish. It's a hot mess, I thought.

My husband is terrified of hangers.

No AC. Unless you count the fan.
No proper ironing spot. Unless you count this.

I feel like this is how all of those glamorous New Yorkers live, though. So, I gave my teeny multitasking bedroom a new zip code. 10001.

The rest of my house is a little more spacious. Still 97405.

Obviously, I didn't submit the photos with the chair covered in dirty clothes or the attractive elevated fan. My bedroom is cyber history. The finalists' bedrooms are all beautiful, though. Not a Costco fan or a dirty pair of boxers in site. Go check out how the beautiful people live. All award worthy for sure.

Chairing is Caring

Jenny over at My Favorite and My Best had a problem.
She had a cute chair that lacked personality.

So she painted it yellow...because she had extra yellow paint. Bad kitty.

I decided to send her some of Sister Parish's Burma in brown...

...which encouraged her to do the right thing. Thank goodness. Good kitty.
