Stepford

I just redid these vintage Century Louis XV chairs for an auction.

I am donating them to benefit Volunteers in Medicine. I wanted to do something crazy but I was a little chicken.

These will be auctioned off to ladies who lunch so I kept it safe. I went with a look that I like to call Stepford in Spring.

I had the chairs painted Benjamin Moore's White Dove and ordered some of Peter Fasano's Kimoni.

Did I nail it?

I did not. Too too. I just had the upholsterer stick with the classic double welt. He loaded the chairs into my car and off I went.

I brought them home and had Merritt put them to the test.

Hoping they go for a bundle. They should.
Cause they're worth it.

Killer

George Cameron Nash just sent me a picture of the custom tufted banquette we designed for the Dallas project. It is covered in Great Plains' Silk and Sexy silk mohair.

I die.

Chair-a-holic

Hi. My name is Jen....and I am a chair-a-holic.

I'm not kidding. My living room alone has more chairs than an AA meeting.

I'm in denial, though. I bought three more yesterday. I couldn't resist these cucumber colored cracked-ice McGuire style chairs. This table was included but I can't keep it. I'm a chair-a-holic. Not a table-a-holic.

Two chairs are for the kids' computer area (under construction)...

...and one is for my desk. I wanted to paint them coral and put this Katie Ridder fabric on them...but then I got the sample. Uh. Scale. A bit off.

Please. If anybody stages a chair intervention send me somewhere nice...and spa like.
