Purr-Klempt

When a company willingly sells you 3/4 of a yard of fabric
without a cut fee or a snotty refusal...it's expensive.
Which is exactly why it took me so long to order this silk velvet.

Nothing else would do for these stools.
Not that I didn't look. I did. A lot.

When I misplaced the original sample when the remodel began...

...the showroom sent me this picture to confirm the fabric.

And confirm I did...with tears in my eyes and divorce court in sight.
If you have felt the infamous Clarence House Jaguar Velours Soie,
though, handmade in Italy, then you are just as purr-klempt as I am.

Thanksgiving

I'd like to thank my family, friends, clients, blog, dog, fish
and frog for making my life worth every crazy moment.

I hope you are all thankful, too.

Baker Table and Chairs

We bought a vintage Michael Taylor for Baker dining table a few years ago.
Just recently, during a visit to one of my dealers, I ran into six dining chairs
from the same collection. Sold. Load 'em up.

They have been refinished and reupholstered with yards of
blue cotton velvet from Kravet, Cambridge flat braid from
Samuel & Sons and antique brass nailheads.
Just in time for the holidays.

One big happy family. Reunited.

A Little Thing

Sometimes it's the little things that do it for me.

This Paul McCobb brass stool by the Calvin Company did just that...
I had the brass x-base replated and the cushion reupholstered in
Dedar's silk ikat in charcoal.

Disclaimer: If it's little it better be good.
