I decorated my 8 year old daughter's room awhile ago... She told me yesterday she hates it. She wants to paint her walls black and red and would like an Egyptian theme. Really.
oh how i detest when they get an opinion. especially about their room decor. loving her room. maybe you can passify her with a black and red poster of some sort--mine seem to go for that. then when they are gone (after a period of time has gone by) the poster magically disappears. typically i blame it all on the cleaners
Too funny! I want that room for moi, but I digress. (BTW, you & Mrs. Little Green Notebook are totally on the same page w/r/t girls' rooms - love it!) Perhaps this can be a teachable moment for your budding Egyptologist/designer - how to do theme-y without being too literal. If she's serious, the recent Brendan Fraser "Mummy" movies have some surprisingly good visuals of 1930s-styled bedrooms.
oh no!!! is this what i have to look forward to one day!??? her room is darling... tell her she can be an egyptian for halloween - maybe that will satisfy her!? :)
You crack me up! I don't always have time to ready my fav blogs but yours I try not to miss because I know I will get a laugh...so funny with the Mommy Dearest pic. I hate to say but she probably won't appreciate your great taste/design skills until she is much, much older. Large sigh...
Oooh, sorry to hear that!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could draw it up on the computer or with some markers to show her that maybe she wouldn't like it???
I love your daughters room. Sorry that she doesn't. Maybe as she gets older she'll appreciate it more. :o)
ReplyDeleteI see she is following in her Mommy dearest designer footsteps.

ReplyDeleteentombment?! Mommie Dearest? You are too funny.
ReplyDeleteTell your daughter she is pretty darn lucky. I had white walls and brown carpet growing up, ick.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I love that chair. Tell her if she doesn't want it I'll gladly take it.

ReplyDeleteSo cracked up! At least she's creative.
ReplyDeleteI love her room the way it is. I would kill for that headboard and chair. I hope she changes her mind.

ReplyDeleteI merely came back to see if you had transformed Cleopatra's room to a
